Installation follows the standard flow on iPhone and Android — scan or paste, label the line, enable data roaming for the Maya line. Hotspot sharing is allowed on most plans, which makes Maya practical if you work from a laptop.

Support runs 24/7 through chat and email, and response times in our own tests were measured in minutes rather than hours. That is the main reason its Trustpilot score sits well above the category average.

Criticism, where it exists, is about the same things every eSIM gets: coverage in genuinely remote areas, and users who forget to enable data roaming after installing.

Maya's Trustpilot average sits around 4.6, which is high for a category where most brands land between 3.9 and 4.4. The volume of reviews is smaller than Airalo's or Holafly's, so the score moves more easily, but the shape of the feedback has been stable for a while.

The single most repeated theme is support quality. This is consistently the most-praised part of the Maya experience across Trustpilot and Reddit alike — multiple reviewers specifically cite an initial response time of around five minutes, and several describe support proactively escalating and resolving issues that started out poorly.

In our own contacts, questions about hotspot rules and plan validity were answered by a human without a chatbot layer in between. That matters more than it sounds: a connectivity problem is time-critical when you are standing in an arrivals hall.

Maya is the best all-round travel eSIM we track. Prices undercut the better-known brands in most destinations while the underlying networks are usually the stronger local partner, and hotspot sharing on most plans makes it practical for anyone travelling with a laptop or a family.

The trade-offs are brand size and a web-first purchase flow rather than a polished app ecosystem. Neither matters once the profile is installed, but if you specifically want everything managed inside an app store product, Saily or Airalo will feel more familiar.

Our recommendation: Maya first for most trips, especially if you tether. Compare against Holafly only if you want unlimited data with no daily thinking at all.
